I got a question concerning UAI and your preference

ok this is what happen:

If Person 1 got a UAI of 95 and person 2 got a UAI of 98.

Person 1 put say B Economics as the first preference
Person 2 put B Law as the first preference and;
B Economics as the second preference

If Person 2 does NOT get into B Law, Who will get in B Economic first? (imagining that there is only one place left).
Person 1 with UAI of 95 with B Economics as the first preference? OR Person 2 (with a higher UAI of 98) who put B Economics as his/her SECOND preference??

I'm not sure, but i guess it could be the person who accepts the offer first.

but wouldn't person 2 get it first cos he has a higher UAI...i thought its more to ur UAI score rather than what order of preferences u put in

But don't you get an offer from the university if you are able to get in?

I thought it would be first come first serve.

I could and probably am wrong. Some uni student should know.

person 2 gets in.
uac will start off with the highest uai, and go down from there. so they reach person 2 before person 1. they try give per2 his first preference, he doesnt get it, so he's given his 2nd pref. so by the time they reach per1, that one vacancy has been taken up already

So what happens if the course is full but some dude with 100 UAI wants to get in?

Will they kick one out then?

SoFTuaRiaL is correct; and the students with 100 would receive their offers before all others.

I guess they'll go back to aggregates
and if that fails, look at decimal places for scaled marks :p
