My school used that.

It's actually pretty good.

It has a lot of information using graphs and all those fancy things, but it's not worth it.

Unless you got money to blow..

UAISeeker is just as accurate, if not the same.

It's just that this one has more fancy but useless features :p

i reckon that one is more accturate than UAI seeker.

the scaling curve is calculated better (not sure how)
UAIseeker just uses straight lines.

My version i'm going to try and use spline cureves

It's been around for a while, though it's only sold to schools.

I think Sam Davis said it was fairly similar to LazSeeker. Much of a muchness, really. I generated a spline curve (as a graph) for every course, but never ended up using any of them. Ultimately I think the difference was negligible. Though I didn't implement them in any serious way.

Looking forward to playing with it, jm. ;)

My scaling engine is complete.
I'm not using spline cureves just yet. I need more research on how to use them correctly, so that the results end up more accurate.
right now it should be just as accurate as laz seeker.

Laz: just one question, how on earth do you justify to scaling of courses where the candidature is really small, like chinese continuers.(ie. you only got Average, SD, and Max)

I had to estimate statistics at the appropriate percentiles for them.

It's not impossible, but it's not easy either.
