So the motto is you need 8 units in mid-90's to compensate?

its easy... an average scale of 89 per subject will do. :D

so you can get 99 uai with all of your subjects under band 6 if you do subjects with pretty good conversion rate from hsc to scaled marks. :p

89 is not 90.

But yes it is quite close.

It really depends on the rest of the state, but it seems you would actually need to attain higher marks you get a decent UAI as the years go on.

From what I noticed, in average, if the same HSC marks were used in 2001, 2002, 2003, you'd have a 2 UAI less as the years go up.....that's my weird observation.

So for a UAI of 98 we need the marks of 100 this year? Hmm eventually you will need all 100's to avoid a 30 or under.

no man... you're not considering the 1st law of thermodynamics... energy is conserved!!! thermodynamics also applies to hsc so the hsc mark or rather uai cannot keep on getting higher like that by creating marks out of nothing. ;)

Eventually the Board will add band 7s... but would that mean awarding marks between 100 and 110?

Weird. :p

LOL laz, imagine when were all grandparents then. "Why back it my day a band 6 was the highest you could get none of this band 45 stuff and not only that we had to walk 15miles to school"

No I walk 800m to school but old people always exaggerate. Anyway they stopped following the laws of thermodynamics when the dumbed down the sciences.
