"uh thats so unfair, that means she gets 6 uai points":chainsaw:

umm since we havent even started the hsc course technically,
can the point thing still apply???

Well first to comment on those people who said "uh thats so unfair, that means she gets 6 uai points", tell them to shut up, and think about if they were in your position. Or simply just ignore it :)

But this UAI advantage doesn't apply to you does it??

Which one do you want to be dealt with, the death or the "jealous" people?

yes she can apply for the points - special circumstances etc

thats really rude thing to say, her brother died, as if she cares about the hsc, im sure she'd rahter have her bro back than extra uai points...

may i ask why you are asking about the points?
exactly~
oh i was just wondering about it for her and whether it applied...
i can pass the info on if it ever arises in our convoz

That is the rudest fucking thing ever for those people to say.

I want to kick them in the head.

probably not the best thing to bring up. Applications don't need to be in for AGES. give her some time first and comfort. Im sure the school will bring it up with her also when the time is right
oh doooo not worri, i would never bring that up with her,
i would only bring it up if she asked first~

True. Saying something like "damn your brother died :( but on the bright side you get extra UAI points" is a BIG no-no

how rude!!! and what a petty ridiculous thing to be hung up over. her brother just died, a uai boost isnt gonna bring him back. jeez how retarded can some people get?

a death=6 points
(sorry for the offence)
i think that if there is a loss, you need to cope with it and deaths do hurt you emotionally and time wise.

I'm not sure whether you should apply for some advantage or claim before or after the HSC. Can anyone answer?

BTW i dont think you'd get 6 points.
They have to take into account how serious it is. Sometimes you'll get no compo for a death.

On the first page it says closing time is 30th September 2005 for 2006 admissions, so it'll probably around the same time next year for us (2007 admissions)

doubt u get privileges because prior to one yr from now, they prob think that it was too long ago. i remember in o3` my grandma passed away, about 2 weeks before my cousins hsc trial exams, and they stil didnt give her any compo, because she was an international student, well thats what i heard. and to the people in ur class who actually made that comment, like seriously i dont get how people can have a frame of thinking like that, and not take into any considerations of what your going through. shows how immature people are and also how competitive this world is today (in getting marks). i would hope that someone dies a few days before their exams, but i can't actually think like that, despite what they said to you.
