I know you guys must be sick of constantly predicting uais all the time, but after this next wave of assesments i have improved again, and you guessed it, im after another prediction. Hopefully i can get a mid 90s prediction. Top 15 selective school(15th position exactly i think.)

Maths-98%1/127
Maths Ext 79%2/66
English advanced91% 9/172
Legal Studies 90%1/29
Business Studies 97%1/52
Economics 89% 2/11
Music 100%1/10

Im hoping now these first rankings in some subjects will help me out a bit. Id be happy with low to mid 90s realistically but i have no idea where these ranks and marks place me. 95+ and id be ecstatic. Thank you in advance for your time.

EDIT: Dux has never been below 99.8 i might add, i know im not dux, but we have always got 20+ kids over 99 each year, just thought id point that out.

95+ quite comfortably there.

i'd think around 98-99 as rough *estimates* is very possible to acheive.

all the best. :)

95 plus is certain! If you could just nudge your eng rank a tad bit higher, even 99 is possible. Now the only thing for you to do is to start studying hard for all your subjects instead of worrying about predictions of UAI, remember, they're just predictions... >.^

So best of luck!

Crap...ive worked so hard to pull almost straight firsts in a selective school and can only still land around the 98..though nothing to sneeze at...How the hell do you get up past 99.5+?

99.5 generally requires the help of top marks in science and maths.

you marks for ext1, legal studies and economics are good, but not super.

Well i have more than 10 units so i can ditch a few of the less super ones for the UAI calculation. Really should have picked Phys instead of Legal. Do you think if i could somehow push everything over 95% id have a crack at it? Not that it matters, but itd be cool if it could.

push what over 95%?

if its the hsc mark you are talking about, then yes you'll get 99.5+. but what kind of raw mark that requires is unkown, and the degree of difficulty may be different from that of you school assessments so it can be hard to predict your hsc mark with decent accuracy? confusing? moral of the story is to try your best, you'll only get what you deserve. :)

but ideally...the scaling does so that you can be compared to other students. i'll give an example.

subjectA: hsc mark: 50, scaled mark: 65
subjectB: hsc mark: 70, scaled mark: 65

so the theory is that whether you did subjectA or subjectB, you would get the same scaled mark [the mark used to calculate the uai]. so you see if a subject is scaled low, you are expected to negate that, to an extent, by your performance.

so dont feel down for choosing "low scaling" subjects. :)
