Evening all,

I was just wondering what UAI I ought to expect with these courses/marks.

Courses COMPLETED in 2004

Mathematics (Extension 1) : 96
Mathematics (Extension 2) : 93

Courses ENTERED in 2005: (conceived in-school rank)

English (Advanced) : 1-5/50
Chemistry: 1-2/42
Music2: 1/5
Music Extension: 1/4
Philosophy - Distinction Course: N/A
SOR I: 1-3/180

I attend MacKillop Senior College, Port Macquarie. Our English department is, frankly, quite weak: top mark last year for Advanced was 89. Our school was ranked 179 with a top UAI of 97.45. (Although, our results were below average this year: we generally have some high 98s and 99s.)

Thank you for your time. :)

Your results make me think that you're on track for a high UAI, how high though I couldn't tell you other than 97+. Have you tried SAM? It's extremely useful for UAI predictions.

Aim low so you'll definitely score higher

That's not so sound advice.

You need to take risks and acknowledge your fears. You MIGHT not do as well as you hoped, but you've got a good lot of motivation to do well with and you quite possibly WILL do as well as you hoped.

Have two UAI AIMs: Realistic/pragmatic and dream.

My pragmatic UAI is 90 - I'll easily get that and it will cover pretty much any course I want.
My goal is 99.

hey hugh-ey!! It's Danoz!!!

Listen matey, don't worry about it. Just do your best (which is good anyway - like trevor said you'll get Dux for sure!)

If anybody, I'm the one that should worry about my UAI.

If you aim really high (say 99- even though you think you might not get it), it'll be better then aiming for only 90. Then you'd have more motivation. :)

I wanted above 90, but I aimed at about 96 to get my first preference. I ended up with 95.30, which was no where near as high as expected, but I still got into my first preference. :)

expect around 97-99.

It does of course depend on a number of factors.
It helps that you did the two maths'.

I wouldn't say expect 97-99, coz that really narrows it down a lot. With captain_pi's marks, 100 is not out of the question. I'd say 98.5-100 is a likely UAI outcome for captain_pi.

Actually, I just checked and we were ranked 171. Yay! (sarcasm - all the way!)
