We are two medical interns who run small, affordable group lessons on technique for section 1 and 2 of the UMAT. Why? Obviously, not because we need the money, but rather because we have an honest desire to contribute to the medical career force of tomorrow, and this is where we believe we can add the most value.

What's our story?

When we first begun assisting students with entry into Medicine over four years ago, we found extremely bright students who would go on to get UAIs of 99.95 would spend months going through hundreds of questions, and see little or no improvement in their results, only to have their hopes of a career as Doctors dashed because of a poor UMAT score.

It was then we realised that success in the UMAT requires a very different skillset from success in school. While doing well in school means retaining massive amounts of info over years, the UMAT requires you to very rapidly process chunks of information to ascertain a particular answer, with each section demanding a very unique and specific approach that tests a certain skill that will be required of you as doctors. Don't let them kid you - guess and checking 500 section 2 questions is not going to help you understand people any better. Nor can somebody who hasn't worked in hospitals, who understands the requirements of being a medical professional hope to teach you techniques over to greatly improve on an exam that tests exactly those skills.

What's our approach?

We specialise in Section 1 and Section 2 of the UMAT, the areas that we can offer the most value having scored 99% in both sections. We teach our students a specific approach to each section, that allows them to quickly process questions and identify the hidden pieces of info required for the correct answer. Fortunately for you, this first barrier that prevents most from getting into medicine is a written exam and not a test of real life skill, which means in a short amount of time we can pass on skills to read and answer questions correctly, based on training and experience as real doctors working in one of the top hospitals in the nation. This is something we're very proud of, and something no other tutors can offer.

We run a series of lessons in small groups, with no obligation to come to more than one (although almost all students do.) Given our time is significantly reduced as doctors, to price our lessons at $60 per hour, with discounts for friends. We pride ourselves in being extremely approachable and friendly, so feel very free to contact Dr Ahmad for a no obligation chat about your university and career goals, and more info - 0432651425
