This is a weird topic, I hope.

Umbrellas, I think, are useful in unexpected showers during the day. It's better than getting wet with rain water and become sick, I guess.

But it also doesn't have to do with rain. It can be used as protection from the sun's rays and as a weapon from, for instance, molesters. <<That was just an example.

However the problem is, who will bother to carry an umbrella just to wait for the rain/sun/attacker?

Umbrellas come in various sizes, styles, patterns, colours, length, hardness, heaviness, brands and quality. It would be tiresome and annoying to carry a long wooden-handled umbrella to...shopping!

So, Question: How do you feel about carrying umbrellas whenever you head out?

Mistake: The third option in the Poll was meant to be "It takes up too much space in my bag (any kind of bag), so I don't like to take it with me."

I bought mine in Rome from a dodgy street hawker. It's bright red :) and I put it into a pocket in my schoolbag. I have used it a few times...though I can say that it's been used more times off this continent.

Actually I have a black one which is half the size of the red one. It fits in my handbag but I can hardly ever be bothered to bring it.
