I just got this email, It looks important
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING NOTICE...
IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR UNU MEMBERS
What's Happening?
Due to changes within the Tax Department, the GSC payment can no longer be considered a membership fee to the Union (UNU Limited). The Unions constitution states that as we are a member based organisation, it is a requirement that you undergo an additional registration process to be recognised as a member.
What does this mean to me?
The good news is that this is FREE for students, but all continuing students who are currently registered as members on the UNU website have temporary restricted access to the web. To re-gain your web access we need to determine you are in fact a continuing student at this University & wish to become a member of the Union (UNU Limited) again for 2004.
What do I need to do?
You DO NOT have to re-enter all your information...to re-validate your membership, from Monday 16 February 2004 or next time you're on campus, simply present your current student card at CONTACT or either CYBERCYCLE office & our staff will re-validate your membership on the web & place a Union logo sticker on your student card.
Why is this important?
Because without being re-validated you will not be a member of UNU & without the sticker you will not receive all the membership benefits. (and remembervalidation is FREE)
So what does UNU membership & the sticker get me?
The sticker signifies that you are a 2004 Member of the Union & will entitle you to:
* Discounts in all Union catering & shop outlets
* Allows you to drink as a member in our Bars under the Unions Liquor Licence
* Discount tickets to all gigs at the Bar on the Hill & in the Shortland UNion
* A Free Student Diary
* 2 Hrs Free Internet access per day
* Attend Free Movie nights here on campus
* Access to your own UNU website where you can win great prizes, find out whats going on, use online Classifieds, join Clubs & Societies, chat with other members & lots more!
We hope you have a great year at Uni & enjoy the student life on campus provided by your Union.
Cheers,
From all at UNU : )
