Universities and Reputation (1 Viewer)

Hey Guys,

I got offered by UNSW and RMIT for the bachelors of engineering in Australia. Due to the convenience and family matters, I feel RMIT would be a better option. however, UNSW is a much more reputable university. So I'd like to hear from you guys about the importance of reputations. Does it really matter that much?

To a certain extent coming from a certain uni can give you some kind of edge, by that i mean it's just that you come from there you should have some kind of standard they are looking for. However it doesn't necessarily burn you if you go to RMIT and going against someone from UNSW for the same job. If your grades are better or you have experience of some sort, you can or will most likely be a better candidate. Do not think going to another uni for the same degree makes that huge rift, because at the end of the day it boils down to real world experience
