Unmanned Near-space ballooning (1 Viewer)

Hey,
After the HSC some friends and I are going to launch a balloon :balloon: into near space with a camera attached, have it take some photo and then recover it. It should be fun! but I have no idea as to the legality of what were doing... anyone know anything about airspace law in NSW/ACT?
I need to know whether there is a maximum payload the balloon is allowed to carry without needing a special permit or permission or something , and if we DO need permission, where do i get it from.
and also WHERE I am allowed to do it (km from airports or something.

we are hoping to get up to about 36kms

heres an idea. dont be a pussy and just launch it.

only trouble you have with airspace law is if anything falls off and hits somebody/property
