How long will the syllabus remain the same with the same texts and electives that were done in 2002/2003/2004 etc.?

It would probably stay like that for a while. Some texts for some electives have changed since last year, though. But I'm not completely sure how long the electives will stay as they are.

On the BOS website it says the current syllabus will go from 2004-2006. Im confused. Can the texts change if the syllabus remains the same?

Yeah, they can. For Crime Fiction, one of last year's texts were Snow Falling On Cedars, but they changed this to Anil's Ghost this year.

The syllabus can change year to year if they want it too. Why do you ask?

The current syllabus is the one you speak of where it said on the Board that there is a change for 2004-2006. In 2006, those in Year 11 will have a new Area of Study for their HSC in 2007, but I'm not currently aware of any major overhauls to the Extension Syllabus.

Why do you want to know?

Yeah.. for the class of 2005 year 12s

Our enx class is doing Speculative fiction, in which we'll cover Dune, the Handmaids tale, and the Lord of the RIngs: fellowship...

So, we'll be the second yr 12 to touch speculative fiction.

But, the thing is that for Dune, the novel that we're currently doing.. there are like no guides at all for it.

we are doing spec fiction too, the same texts as you ( i think)
dont use guides! read the text, and work stuff out for yourself, that is what english is all about
