I need to find the equations of the tangent and normal to the curve and i am given
Y= 2x squared - 4x +1, where the gradient is 4

How do find the points to work out question and how do you work backwards from gradient to individual pts??????????

u mean
y=2x²-4x+1
dy\dx=4x-4
given "gradient is 4", then 4x-4=4
x=2
at x=2, y=1
so eq. of tangent: (y-1)\(x-2)=4
y-1=4x-8
y=4x-7
eq. of normal: (y-1)\(x-2)=-1\4
4y-4=-x+2
4y=-x+6
y=-x\4+3\2
