umm what you do is enter in all the scores (while its in statistics mode) then at the end when its been entered u can press one button to find the mean.. and another to find the standard deviation.. on my calculator (sharp scientific calculator) i press RCL to get it into the purple commands mode then the number 5 (sx) for a sample or 6 (ox) for the whole population then the number comes up.
but yeh if you cant figure that out post the problem and ill help up

In General Maths, you're only expected to know how to use your calculator to work out standard deviation. You don't need to learn any formulas.

It depends on exactly which calculator you have.

The easiest one to use is the Graphics Calculator ... seriously ... just bang in all the numbers and press "calculate" and there's ALL the answers!

If you have a Casio FX82TL, which is quite a common calculator:
1. Put calc in SD mode
2. Press [Shift] [AC] to clear the stats registers (otherwise any previous calculations will be included.
3. Enter each score and press [M+] after it.
4. When you've finished, press [Shift] [1] to find the mean and press [Shift] [2] to find the standard deviation

Hope this helps
