i need to know.. what is the writing at the top of a book called, which gives some insight on what it is about?
Eg in "the ivory trail" what is the writing which says 'not all journeys have an ending' called?
i know it has a special name to it but i jst dont know what.... :confused: :confused: :confused:

Do you mean on the back of a book? If so, a 'teaser' is right.

However. If by 'top' you meant the quote at the beginning of a text, the correct term is an epigraph.
