usyd email cache (1 Viewer)

everytime i try and download an attachment i.e word document that has been sent to be. the message comes up as 'the file could not be written to the cache'
does anyone know how to fix this????????

Perhaps the file is too big for your cache to handle. I believe there's a limit of 2MB for your email account.

If Phanatical is right, the way to fix this would be to go to http://helpdesk.usyd.edu.au then go to Your Account. Click on Account options on the right hand side and then when you have authenticated, upgrade the amount of mail/disk quota. Be warned, this costs money and, Phanatical may not be right and the fact that you can't download the file may also be because you don't have web clicked in amongst those options (you have up to 6mb of cache per day so this might have tipped you over the limit)

Yeah but keep in mind that most people don't use uni internet more than 3-4 days a week, so it's more like 12mb/day.

No the 6MB is for web browsing cache hits. Sites that end in .usyd.edu.au don't count in any case.

Phanatical the 2MB doesn't include the inbox.
