I will be commencing a bachelor of business with a major in econ next year and I am curious as to whether i need to take the math preparation course prior. I took math standard 2 in hsc and found it very easy. Will i struggle without a bridging course? Thanks

Generally speaking, the knowledge gained through Mathematics Standard should be enough for most majors in a Bachelor of Business. However, Mathematics Advanced is typically treated as assumed knowledge, indicating that it is recommended and the knowledge gained from studying it would as such allow you to have a more comfortable start to your degree. To my knowledge, the same applies to a major in economics.

If completing a bridging course is not too demanding and will not affect your studies in your first semester, then it would be good to opt for one. Doing so would eliminate any chances (even if low) of struggling with any aspects of the degree that would otherwise be there should you choose to proceed with your knowledge of Mathematics Standard only.

I hope this helps! :D
