An american professor is giving a lecture at UTS

"Clash of Civilisations -Myth or reality"

When: 6.30pm, Tuesday, 14th December, 2004

Where: Building 3, Level 5 Bon Marche Building, University of
Technology, Sydney

its first come first serve, so any UTS students with free time at time can have somethin to do (the event is supported by UTS)


but 6:30, thats late isnt it? i can never guarantee whether i can go to any event. so we'll see.

Presented by: Imam Zaid Shakir

Imam Zaid Shakir was born in Berkeley, California and accepted Islam
in 1977 while serving in the United States Air Force. He obtained a
BA with honours in International Relations at American University in
Washington DC and later earned his MA in Political Science from
Rutgers University. He has taught as an adjunct Professor of
Political Science Southern Connecticut State University and has also
studied Traditional Islamic Sciences in Syria and Morocco with some
of the top Muslim Scholars of our age. In 2003, he moved to Hayward,
California where he now serves as a Professor and scholar-in-
residence at Shaykh Hamza Yusuf's internationally acclaimed Zaytuna
Institute.


2)Clash of Civilisations - Imam Zaid Shakir

A lecture presentation, organised by Al-Ghazzali Centre for Islamic
Sciences & Human Development, in an academic setting on Imam Zaid's
Paper in the acclaimed book "The Empire and the Crescent" with
papers written by Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, Shaykh Abdul Hakim Murad and
John L. Esposito.
