I have herd stories from everyone about which uni is the best for Software Engineering. However i don't know which one is the best and really confused at the moment.

UNSW soft eng, would be the best option. (UNSW RANKED NO.1 in engineering in Australia and 12th in the World).

UTS offers two 6-month internships and a 94% employment rate.

i would disregard usyd, but thats my opinion.

lol, UTS doesn't offer a 94% employment rate, the engineering degree comes with it stock and yes it offers 1 year of experience but you have to go to uni for an extra year when you could just graduate in 4 years and go work for a year and get same experience + more money. UNSW is ranked no1 in researching... Oh Yay!! USYD is a great uni and it sets the highest standard for people it allows enter (in terms of uai) and doesn't have any bonus points or anything and therefore you know you are going to be around other smart people (which you want for groupwork) plus in terms of facilities it is the best uni. UTS is just a large building, UNSW is just bad and USYD is the best.

However for software engineering i would say go UNSW.

I don't mind spending an extra year at uni. Especially if UTS claims that 94% of graduates find a job.

But is this statistic true?

has anyone switched form UTS to UNSW or USYD and regreted it???

High employment rate != being employed by good companies. It could be that most of them hate their jobs because they work for shit companies(it also could be that most of them love their jobs because they work for good companies and everything in between) If you're good, you'll be employed by good companies, no matter what uni you go to. Don't letstatistics sway you into one direction or another, because statistics are only good for the analysts who use it to make decisions about higher level planning that influence many students, so it's worthless to the individual. Don't let anecdotes sway you either because what has happened to one person says nothing about whether it will happen to you.

Think about what you want to do, look at the degree plan(amount of flexibility, what is taught, etc) and decide for yourself.

and for your other stupid comment. Theres a big difference between getting experience during your degree then after you graduate. The internships decides if the degree is right for you or not, and the most important thing it shows you exactly where you want to be in the future; where you would like to work; and what specialisation if any (what area of choice) you would like to pursue and during your degree you will realise that, not when you graduate when YES ITS TO LATE!!!......but noooo narrow-minded people like have no brain capacity to understand that.

Also you will have great networks when you graduate, you wont feel like your lost after you graduate, like many many other students in all AOS.

I am doing Software Engineering.
I am at UNSW.
Therefore, you should go to UNSW.

Makes sense?

In regards to that, who gives a crap, uSyd, UTS and UNSW are all, quite literally, within walking distance of each other.

Hell, if you go to the highest buildings in each uni, you can see the other 2.

Also, being in the heart of CBD = bad traffic, much air pollution.

I love how you quote sections which are part of a larger sentence, it would be me quoting "the movie isn't good" and throwing some review in there when the whole thing read "the movie isn't good, it's great"

What's better than being in the heart of the CBD? Oh i don't know maybe going to a uni that cares about the students it intakes and doesn't just take anyone who is interested in the degree, or maybe a uni which offers a combined degree in which your second degree actually gets some recognition (although im sure B Business is highly regardd).

And in fact you are the narrow minded one since the only degree you would need to choose a specialisation is in civil and the rest are governed by your employment rather than your studies.

I have no brain capacity? Coming from the guy who chose his uni course based on a fictional character in a crap show? You probably went to UTS because you couldn't get in anywhere else, I'm certain I am far more intelligent than you.

What a f""KEN RETARD!

The idiot actually believed that my purpose of pursing an engineering degree was because of the prison break character...

damn, proves you have no brain capacity!

Why would i go to USYD/UNSW if my interests were in UTS.

Doesnt make sense why i would do something that doesnt interest me......did that get through your head!

and this bloke got a UAI of 99.35..... pfft
probably some rich kid that went to sydney boys, got a uai of 60 and it sky-rocketted to 99.35 because of school rank/other students high-achieving grades. :uhhuh:

I didn't go to Sydney Boys, my school was like rank 127.

And if you think that i thought that you picked civil structures simply because of your likeness of a character then you are beyond any help.
