i was contemplating doing BA AE or BA BE so would this question just have been a matter of noticing that doing AE would give a cleaner solution?

yeah pretty much, I used BA AE and it gave a way clearer solution.

If that’s NSG I did it a while ago but iirc I did BA + AE = BE and BA || BE or BA = kBE
Something like that
