 HSC
 2007
Hello guys, my name is James Wang and I graduated from Fort Street High School in 2007. I graduated also from actuarial studies in UNSW, and I am offering a tutoring service to students in year 11 and year 12 for Mathematics all the way up to 4 unit (extension 2).
In adapting to the COVID19 situation, I am offering online tutoring now.
A little bit more about myself and my teaching style:
I am a fulltime risk analyst with 6 years of banking experience, but I am still enthusiastic about tutoring mathematics, because I realised from the past 11 years of tutoring that I can make a huge difference in my student's results. Under my tuition, my students were not only able to achieve high marks, they were also able to establish an interest in maths and hone the skills in logical thinking.
I detest the traditional methods of how mathematics is taught, generally students were just told to memorise and apply the mathematical formulas to a set of repetitive questions. I stand out in my teaching style in that I am more of a guide than a teacher, I do not spoon feed answers and formulas to students, instead I find that they will learn a lot more once they become an independent and active learner, so I train them through interactive probing and teaching so they can attain the skills to tackle questions on their own, and is able to ultimately solve even the most challenging questions in the HSC.
