hey guys i need to do some work on men in the vicotorian period and have no idea where to start

any assistance would be really helpful!! eg websites.

i also need to write an opening chapter for a victorian story and have no idea regarding it!! any pointers

hmmm...gothic, repressed sensuality, the wealthy middle class slowly becoming more prominent rather than the aristocracy, a new advent of literary skills due to a level of compulsory education, the British Empire was also a force to be reckoned with back then,

I'm also thinking the tone would be extremely descriptive, maybe you could read some of Poe's or Dickens' stuff.
