Hey boys and girls who are doing Engineering Mathematics 2E - MATH2019 next year, Dr Chris Tisdell (a.k.a best maths lecturer/teacher ever) has proposed do a video recording of each lecture and tutorial as a trial.
(I know Civil, Mechanical and Chemical Engineers do this course next year)

The reason is,
when you are in a Math tutorial, the tutor explains his working on the board about the question and you most likely will copy down what you see on the board but once you go home and days later or even weeks later you forget what you have listened in the tutorial but you only have what you have written down from tutorial.
The video recordings allow you to hear and see what happened in the lecture and tutorial in your own time.

However,
the videos are 400MB which can be an issue (4GB when uncompressed) to some students.
Also you must turn up to the tutorial to have your name marked off anyway.

I'm split on this.

We had this for computing last semester (see youtube), and sometimes they helped, sometimes they were just accessories.

So I guess its good as an extra privelege, otherwise not much else

i don't think it's worth the effort - if you can't be bothered going to the actual lecture, then there's no way you'll want to sit down for an hour and watch a video of it at home

just my 2c anyway
