The question is within the image. Thanks so much for the help, kinda stuck on the fact that there are three curves and not sure how to approach it in this sensequestion help.JPG:spin:

I suppose you should use the cylindrical shell method (my 4U maths is quite rusty btw)

did you guys notice that the diagram was wrong? if you based your solution on the sketch given, you would get incorrect answer.

ahhhh crap you're right the hyperbola isn't even defined at x=3
