It should come with comprehensive installation instructions. It simply plugs into your motherboard in a spare PCI slot.

ALthough if you dont understand what your doing you might want to ask somebody who does i suppose..... Although it is quite simple :)

Or you may want to look for an external tuner.

Nothing to do with the card itself :)

If you've got the money (and if your PC is powerful enough), it would be wise to pick up a digital tuner seeing that analog will soon be extinct.

The only point of doing this is to record things straight to your computer. If you don't want to do this, just buy a tv.

yeah exactly. So make sure you do have a DVD or CD Burner, and not something like a 40/60 GB hard drive....

Most 1 hours programs end up been 1-2GB in size with descent picture quality settings

Or if space is an issue, of course.

BTW Does anyone know an australian website that sell VGA boxes?

most hdtv tuners give u a bad picture unless you have really good reception.
All digital TV is like this, picture quality is perfect until you fall over the threshold you'll get absolutely no picture. I've had fine picture up until maybe 70% reception or so before everything becomes screwed. Signal quality is important too.

OP, you should first check out what type of computer you have..if it's a laptop you'd have to get an external box and if a desktop then you'd need to check if you have a free PCI slot. Then you'd want to find out what you want, digital tv or analogue, but as Templar says in three years there will be no more analogue tv.

Yeah, if you have a desktop definitely get a digital one. I've got a VisionPlus which may not be the best but it's pretty good and it's about $180 these days (seeing analogue is getting phased out this is the way to go) although you need to be fairly good with computers.
If your reception (or say people near you if you don't have a tv) is good (or fairly decent) you shouldn't have a problem, even getting an internal antenna from dicks smith should be fine.
Anyway, get a tuner for about $150-$250 I think the best place to search for info is www.dba.org.au and go to the DTV forums and look in the DTV Tuners section for very good information.

thats a stupid idea - "in three years time analogue tv will be extinct" - dudes in three years time, digital tv will be completely difference way better and chances are probably need more advanced tuner. So dont bother if its analogue or digital get what you need at the time. Its like buying these consoles the price they come at is ridiculous $400 a few years later its $200 catch is a new console will be coming out.

So dont worry get what you need! not buy something cos you feel its gonna bee 'extinct' personally i feel tv tuners are not that good at the moment, but it is handy and not the expensive $60.

But i wouldnt recomment unless you have a large lcd monitor, get a dvd recorder with a hardisk and hd set top box and that more like it (if u can afford it i cant) else stick to the tv tuner.

I doubt it, especially considering they're not going to pull the plug after 3 years like Berlin. Your tuner would work perfectly fine then, with no new functions.

Ok, another person who doesn't know the facts and sees the need to talk out of their rear end.
The standard for Australian digital TV has been set (to the dismay of many who wish it could be changed). But there is very very very little chance of something different happening, it's in the legislation. So no, everything now should be mostly be compatible (some newer features like interactive tv may not be fully supported by the software, but it isn't a feature really used in Australia at the present time - so the tv channels themselves will definetly be fine). Actually a good reason to buy now is that there's rumour that the government wants to put copy protection on tv tuners so you can't record -> piracy.

Analogue tv is definitely shutting down in 2008 just the possibility (and at this rate it won't). But yeah, by then it dtv will be a lot cheaper and it'll be starting to get totally phased out, especially with the new widescreen tv's getting for popular.
