If one has poor foundations in chem, has never achieved decent marks before and is bad with the basic stuff eg. writing chemical formulae, what can he do to improve his marks in a short time? i'd think going back to learning basics with a yr 11 text book would be a good idea, and lots of practice and memorising will help a lot. has anyone pulled their chem marks up in a short period of time? can you share your experiences? thanks a lot!

edit: by the way, personally i think you can go a long way by obtaining good syllabus notes and memorising everything

yes, just answer the syllabus dot pts and you'll be fine :)
Exactly!

I had no idea what was going on in chem... so after being introduced to something called 'syllabus' i started writing notes.. and just memorised them... yep literally memorise them word for word...

but memorising them made me automatically understand all the concepts... and then when i flicked through past HSC papers after 2001 i realsied i knew how to answer almost any question because it was just the syllabus manipulated into different wording...
