Is there anyone who is actually employed as an economist? I want to know what their actual day-to-day duties are.

economists writes about the economy and at the same time adds their views about what might happen...

you can earn a lot or very little, depending on your accuracy and fame..

some economist are sometimes called strategists...where they advise traders on issues concerning the economy and then it's the traders' job to make decisions on trades.

ie. is it the RBA?
the government
newspaper,
big private firm

etc.
