Okkkkayyyyyys I'm Yr 12 2004 & I currently have 12 units, and I'm thinking about dropping general maths bcoz it's has the lowest scaling of all my subjects and its my weakest subject coz I don't listen or concentrate in class coz its too easy...if that makes sense.......should I drop it or not, I get better marks in all my other subjects (4U English, Bio, Business St, French) and try a lot harder at them.....I need an unibias opinion!!!!! Pleeeaasseeeee....I was thinking of keeping it for half a term or so but maybe that's a waste of time I could be using 4 other subjects.....what do U think....?

If you don't concentrate in class because you find it too easy, you'd be best to keep it as a backup and not study too much for it.

E.g. You accidently flunk the HSC exam for one of your other subjects you thought you'd do very well, and you would have General Maths as backup.

If you said you were failing General Maths and dislike it, then I would of strongly suggested you to drop it.

Otherwise if you can do well with minimal effort, you're best to keep it as you won't need to concentrate too much on it and hinder the performance of your other subjects.

Drop it and try harder in your other units. Because you don't need it for uni and you'll probably benefit from more time with other units.

hehe, yeah ppl in general maths do the most use less things.
1/2 the time i see them with trundle wheels measuring the area of the school.

My advice is to keep all 12 units. I was one of those people who dropped a unit (I dropped textiles cos I hated it) and then i bombed out in general maths in my HSC. Also for the reason that I think the more work that you do and the busier you are, the more focused you are. I had so many free periods and I wasted them all, and that kind of demotivated me in class as well cos you kind of get into a sitting round doing nothing mode. Whereas when you are overloaded with work you actually do it :)

for some reason i think i have replied to this but my post is not here!
so i would say keep all 12. 10 is risky. and you have said yourself you don't cencentrate in maths you say you don't listen or concentrate because it's too easy, yet it's your weakest subject- if you concentrate i guarantee you will find you can get marks that are MUCh better than what you're getting now. and it won't be your weakest subject. if it's easy you shouldn't need much work to get you thjrough the year. if you've done all your class work, use it as revision time so you don't have to do it at home

keep all 12, but concentrate and do work for maths as well!
