Do we just need to know the different interpretations and how they came about (context/values and the subjectivity of the play/scenes)?
Or do we also need to know alot about the play itself, and the themes/ideas presented??

Please reply asap.

Thanks heaps

it'll really depend on the question...
but my school marked more on context

Good question...since I'm struggling too. So far I have three interpretations, my own interpretation which I made up and an assessment on the success of each production and it's context.

What else do I need to complete my essay?

well, this is my list:

Definate:
- at least two production analysed in relation to their specific interpretation, techniques and examples of corse needed
- themes eg. madness, family, justice, nature etc. with examples
- language features in the play eg. references to blindness, monsters, verse/prose, nothing, etc. again, with examples
- and it's always good to have examples from the fool
- plans for you own production including stage, costumes, props etc. instructions (this is for when they ask for a personal response)
- close analysis of two scenes, beginning and end are good, or storm scene

but since this is Critical Study, and it's only one text, they could ask anything
