What is translational velocity?

HELP ME PLEASE! :(

Ok, I know that rotational velocity is simply the velocity at which the star rotates (how quickly it is spinning). Jacaranda talks about 'real velocity', 'space velocity' and 'proper motion' << which one is translational velocity?

I know this is in the 'wrong part of the forum', but I already posted this question in the Astrophysics section and that proved a dead end (seriously, its dead over there)

translational velocity arises from revolving. I don't have the jacaranda book with me but i guess it refers to "space velocity"
