Being still in secondary education, I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong place. That being said, does anyone know what jobs may be gotten with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemistry? What jobs are you and/or your friends going for?

Does anyone know what sort of office jobs may be gotten? Any job is decent, but I'm looking for one that pays decently and allows me to explore and apply Science. I'm hoping to end up with a 6 figure salary eventually, though I know it may take me many years. Possible/not possible?

Entirely possible.

I myself have completed a BSc (Adv), majoring in Chemistry, along with a Chemistry Honour. Career direction you are looking at including Post Doc (if you choose to complete a PhD), working for pharmaceutical companies (if what you work with relate to drugs), academia / researcher (in universities), Gov't/Private laboratories, consulting company (yes, you heard right. A medallist last year I know went into employment with a consulting company) and general any fields that require strong problem solving skills.

Whilst I agree with xiao, i also think since it is considered a "general" degree considered to say a specialist one like pharmacy or optometry it may be difficult to find a job if you cant decide what you what to get into and so on. My cousin did a BSc with a major in chem and physics and didnt find a job straight away, same with another person i know.

Thanks for the replies guys (oops, I mean guy and gal :p). Thats some food for thought, xiao :).

Addictd2, could you possibly tell me what job your cousin got in the end, or would that be too personal?

Can it open up anything in forensics, does anyone know?
I'm planning on doing a combined Sc (Adv)/Arts degree and majoring in Chemistry & Anthropology, once I get out of the stupid course I'm already enrolled in.
