My class was like that too, but I think it had a lot to do with a VERY boring study day. But we did Greece which I thought was really interesting, and now Im reading Greek history in my spare time cause Im loving it so much:p Im sure you'll like Alexander the Great seeing as he was quite an interesting person.

Welcome to Bored of Studies, we hope you enjoy your stay and take time out to visit the board regularly and become addicted like us who finished last year and still cant seem to get off the forum. Have a nice day:)

If you want a pic, then you click on the 'user cp' button which is at the top of every page, then click on 'edit options' and at the bottom of that page there is an avatar option, just click on the button there and you can then upload a pic from your computer (provided it isnt too big).

No worries, I dont think I really have an area of ancient history that I particularly dislike, I like Roman history as well as Greek (especially seeing as you get better stories about the Roman emperors than most other ppl from ancient history)

Did any of you guys choose what your class studied, or was it pre-decided?

Personalities: Augustus, Agrippina the Younger
Periods: Spartan Society, Julio Claudians. Persian and Pelopennisian wars

I really like the way my teacher sets it out... The Greek topics complement each other, and by learning about Agrippina, we have covered most of the Julio Claudians... :D

How are you doing Augustus as a personality? Isnt he part of the Julio-Claudian period?

im not 100% sure, but we have generally used the same ones throughout the past 2 terms, so i imagine we'll keep using them.

Our main textbook is Pamela Bradley's 'Ancient Rome: Using Evidence' backed up by Dianne Hennessy's "Studies in Ancient Rome".

Then we used alot of Scullard, and some other guy who says "you can rule the world with cups of tea" :p... oh, and thay guy Salmon (i still laugh at his name)

For our primary sources we obviously use alot of Tacitius, and we used the Res Gestrae last term.
