it depends what you are supporting in your essay. If you are doing frontline then you might talk about misrepresentations of the truth, therefore your related text should supplement your argument.

yeah im doin frontline, i was also thinking the misrepresentation article would be more ideal for our topic, but the other article had some really good points to talk abt esp in relation to our assessment. but i think i'll just quote some stuff off that

An article describing truth is awesome for quotes ;)
But why not use both?

Has anyone done a documentary as a related text? Can you do a documentary?

If your doing frontline, its best to avoid it... Frontline itself is somewhat a documentay, same techiniques etc. etc.

You could probably use it if you had alot of other related texts that werent in the same format.... But it looks better having a wide range of text types, not just one :)

frontline is not a documentary... frontline is a satire of current affairs shows....

Your right. Which is why i said "somewhat a documentary". The techniques used in a documentary are similar to the techniques used in frontline, they are closely aligned. e.g. the handheld camera.
The general aim of frontline is to use to documentary format to get the satirical effect.

If frontline is simply a satire and nothing else... then they wouldnt show "behind the scenes" stuff. it would only show the 'news' program itself.
