i dont know muh about WAM and havent done enough uni studies to calculate anything, so can can someone tell me if a 58 WAM is ridiculously hard to get? possible with a bit of work? or piss easy?

Leaning very much towards the 'piss easy' side.

Weighted Average Mark

It's all your all your marks added together divided by the amount of subjects, an average subject mark... in some uni's they work it out per credit point as subject can vary in the amount of credit points a subject is worth.. in the case of UOW it can vary between 2cp, 6cp or 8cp for single semester subjects... so if that is the case you would have to work out the average mark for each credit point and multiply it by the amount of credit points a standard subject is worth.

So for a student at UOW doing subjects all containing 6cp, it's

SUBJ100 = 56
SUBJ101 = 83
SUBJ102 = 71
SUBJ103 = 47
SUBJ104 = 64
SUBJ105 = 67
SUBJ106 = 72
SUBJ107 = 68

WAM = (56+83+71+47+64+67+72+68)/(8*6cp=48) * 6 = 66

58 would be to get into Masters (ie, the crap version of a PhD, depending on what subject you do)
