there are clear guidelines
look up unsw electrical engineering handbook, pick the year 2026 on the website, scroll to where it says specialisation structure and you will see that e.g. in first year you have to take all four of the core courses, and 4 more of your choosing (one from each pair), totalling 48 units of credit for first year as each course is 6 UOC each

similar information for second year

theres also a sample degree plan for electrical engineering by unsw online, under the same google search

it’s confusing when ur new to it but lowkey the info is all there online, highly recommend reading and trying to make sense of the handbook

@Tryingtodowell About 3 each term (18 credit units). This is all up to, but I highly recommend looking at MyPlan and going to pathways. Search something along the lines of 2026 T1 with the course that you have accepted.

If you have any further issues, do not hesitate to ask for more help.

I just ignored those. First go to MyPlan

Click on pathways:

Search 2026 T1 and your course name

I searched for Engineering Flexible First Year. Fromhere, you can decide which pathway works best. You can then enrol in the relevant courses.

Hope this helps. I am pretty sure the levels indicate the stage or difficulty level of the course.
