Which came first? Concentration Camps or Ghettos (1 Viewer)

The question is in reference to the persecution of Jews during WWII..

I'm having a conflict in sources.

ghettos came first after which they were rounded up on the night of broken glass to concentration camps in large numbers i think

the sources i have show that ghettos were constructed after the invasion of poland began..ie period..1940 april..i have another source stating jews were sent to concentration on feb 1940..does nayone have a valid date for this?

i dont think u need to focus so much on accurate dates in relation to the persecution of the jews- what u need to show is historan sources in relation to opinions on the time period...

either way display a solid understanding of the time- im sure if u had enough sources you could could contradict lots of things

Camps for political prisoners were set up just after the Nazis came to power. I dont know whether you would call these concetration camps though...But yes if your definition of a concentration camp is a death camp such as Aushwitz/Birkenau then Ghettos came first. Either way the importnat thing to note is that the Nazis interned theit opponents and anyone they didn't like (e.g. Jews, gypsies. communists) and they did this through these camps adn ghettos.
