Yeah I did, used up all the writing space

Who knows what 3 things were wrong with the motor?
I got 2 of them (made up the third)
- No power source
- Coils not connected to commutators

good work . I answered every question 2 . ( doesn't happen often ) doesn't mean I got them right though

I said that the brushes should be made of graphite instead of copper. Copper produses too much frication on rotation

i spoke about the armature, how the coils wrapped around the prism werent in the magnetic field at a most efficient angle.... or some crud

I finished, but some of the stuff I wrote was a bit bs. Is there meant to be two north pole magnets in that motor question. I didn't think there was...

that could be right but I thought that the coils were already at right angles to the direction of the magnetic field

The other ends were south, so there was a north and south
which is correct

one had a north pole facing the rotor , the other had north pole facing away.

therefore it was a south pole. Seems pretty normal to me. They were just trying to trick us

it was just like one of those 'whats wrong' comics in the newspaper

brushes would have too much friction, the core was rectangular which would mean bad rotation/rocking about, the magnets were both the N end so the magnetic field would be retarded and the coils werent perpendicular to the magnetic field.

i finished every question with a little over an hour to spare (which i used to check on everything) but i now realise that i missed the last page of question 29

i said that coil was wound in the wrong plane, also the current flow is different on either side of the core so u would get cancellation and that there was no wires between commutator and coil, but there was also no power supply, umm some people said about the magnets not being held by anything so the feild wont be uniform

hey maybe your right buddy. No arguments from me. I also said that the magnets would produce too weak a field for the number of turns (only 50) - needs to be more like 500 I thought.

i think the magnets were ok i cant remember but im pretty sure the two ends mark north were not facing each other but i could be wrong

I got that:
1. the brushes were made of copper instead of carbon which creates too much friction
2. the coil was in the wrong plane for the motor (or something like that)
3. the magnets were not tall enough to effect the coil through the full range of motion (which i think is wrong since i now realise that the mag. field arcs above and below the end area as well)
4. that there was no power source connected to the brushes
*I put four answers for extra security!*
I also realise now that the coil was not attached to the split ring commutator! (doh!)
