i got my one from myer...but i haven't got my one from swot shop. actually i'm not even sure if i'm getting one from them... i'm pretty sure i worked in the new financial year. oh well.

but i want it so i can get back my $1411...

i just got my one from swot shop in the mail. earned $56, payed no tax. i'll lodge my return now... hmmm damnit i'm on the wrong comp.. have to download etax.

all my return will go to paying second semester uni fees upfront.

I am really clueless about tax returns. I just received in the mail yesterday a letter stating my gross earnings and the tax withheld. Is this my group certificate? What percentage of the tax withheld (I am guessing this is how much tax I paid) will I get back, is it approx 17% or all of it? I am so confused!

yes that is your group cert. You can just work out how much you get back. Look at gross earnings and however much you earnt over $6000, multiply it by 0.17 (17 cents in each dollar). Then take that amount away from what you were actually taxed and that's how much you get back.

Are you a low income earner? Why do you need to pay 300? Shouldn't you receive 300?

I just did my tax return, I had no idea there was this tax offset for low income earners, but at the end it said I get $235 credit for it wooo. I said no to all the tax offset questions but it just came up automatically at the end (I did e-tax).
