Reasons for choosing any degree are generally the same: interest and career. If you are interested in law, and/or want to practice, then those are good reasons. If you want to open up commercial career opportunities, law is a good degree to combine with commerce.

There is some useful information in the Law Guide on this topic.

Re: Why chose law???

Reasons to do law:
* Impresses females and their parents
* The B in the degree abbreviation is in a special and unique place
* You have an interest in law
* You would possibly like to practice law
* You have no soul

Reasons not to do law:
* Prestige. Believe it or not, your LLB is not a ticket into a magical old boys club where you sit around in expensive suits smoking expensive cigars (and possibly money) discussing 'those common arts students'. You will be a shit kicker who gets treated like utter crap for the first five or so years after graduation.
* Money

if you have to ask that question, perhaps you shouldn't.

in all honesty though, you might want to do some research to answer your own question.

Good question

Why did you ask this question is a more important question. Did you decide that law would be a good option for a good career, for the money or because it actually interests you? If it's either of the first two, pick something else that you enjoy.

If you think maybe you would like to study and practise law go and have a look at what it actually entails. In my experience there is seldom a middle ground in law. Either you like it or you hate it and you don't want to spend the your life in a career that you hate.

Don't forget however, that you don't have to practice in law.

As I said, it is a valuable degree for any commercial career
