ask them?

it's probably because they don't have enough students/ staff to justify it...

MQ has a pretty large number of law students actually, and is a pretty massive uni in general.

Somebody told me the answer to this question not too long ago, but I'm having a massive brain meltdown atm lol.

Its recovering from a few years of instability within the Law Department.

It's a result of the university re-structure in 2008/2009. Prior to this time, the university had a number of 'Departments'. 'Department' was Macquarie's version of a Faculty. There existed, prior to the re-structure, a Department of Law. Instead, now Macquarie has a School of Law, located within the Faculty of Arts (Macquarie has reverted back to using the term 'Faculty' as part of the re-structure).
Replace " 'Department(s)' " with " 'Division(s)' ".

That's the PC version of things.

Basically The 'Law' Department went through a bunch of shit, and became the laughing stock of the Sydney Law schools, and are now slowly recovering under the umbrella of Arts.

The people there are trying, but its going to be a slow build.

PS. who cares about 'prestige' anyway, you're going to an Australian university, prestige ain't going to count for much rofl.
