Why should Sydney's water contain fluoride, a hazardous neurotoxin which lowers IQ? (2 Viewers)

Besides the US, Australia is the only 1st world nation still using Fluoride water. We obviously shouldn't follow the US with their cancerous foods and stuff.

The benefit of lowering tooth decay for a small percentage of retards who don't brush their teeth doesn't justify lowering EVERYONE's IQ and potential.

People who are born in Australia are more affected than people who migrated here, since if you were born in Australia, you were drinking fluoride water since your birth, a period where your brain is most rapidly developing.

Fun fact: all the HSC state rankers in mx2 and mx1 are immigrants (not born in australia). This is strong evidence to support that flouride has negatively affected Australia born people's intelligence.

There's no reason water needs to be tainted with flouride, as all toothpaste already contains high concentration of flouride.

A low IQ society is easy to manipulate - that's why they've been putting fluoride in our drinking water since the 1950s.

@cheesynooby would you like to debate why drinking water needs to be tainted with flouride?

We already have high amounts of flouride in toothpaste. You don't have to ingest the flouride in toothpaste, but everyone is forced to ingest flouride via drinking water.

Why should we lower the average IQ of society just to pander to a few retards who don't know how to use a toothbrush and toothpaste - people who look like the picture below?

☹Do not open picture if you're sensitive☹

Even if the first claim is true, you are very, very stupid for assuming it has anything to do with fluoride. Immigrants are overrepresented among the highest scorers because much of Australia's immigration is highly selective for intelligence (indirectly). We aren't getting country bumpkins from chinese farming villages, we're getting chinese smart enough to have the education, careers and experience that allows them to more easily get to Australia in the first place.

Many of the highest scorers are the children of Asian immigrants, that is, people born in Australia. Your theory predicts that they should do poorly from fluoride exposure, but they don't.

Of course, Australian students do better than most countries without fluoride. Your theory predicts fluoride-free India should be excellent in education and intellect, but they ranked so poorly in PISA they stopped administering the test and their IQs are, let's just say, not great.

Individual heritable contributions to intelligence are the single most important factor in academic performance. Even if fluoride does reduce intellectual ability, it would be nowhere near enough to matter as much as heritable differences between people and certainly cannot be inferred from the performance of immigrants vs non-immigrants.

Actually the HSC has little relevance to IQ. Would that mean somehow a person with an ATAR of 99.95 has IQ of 190+? Of course not, otherwise anyone who gets an ATAR higher than 50.00 will be considered above average IQ. I know for sure that my IQ is 104 (actually got tested professionally), yet UAC predicts an ATAR of 84.00, not 50.00 and I was born here. So no, fluroid does not "lower" IQ. Also the article is ambiguous in whether it is referring to the cumulative risk or whether it is the rate of consumption being excessive (likely the rate). I doubt Australia has any excess amount of fluriod at a single point in time, so no neurotoxicity would occur (or unlikely).

I hope that clears any misconceptions

Best regards, CirrusTheJet.
