If I have a bad rank in chem e.g. 14/19 with avg mark of 76%; if I go well in my externals and rank 5/19 with a mark of 85%, will the moderated mark of my internals be the same mark as someone who scored around the 14/19 rank in their externals? Or will it get a higher ranking mark since I went better in my externals?

Cheers

Your internal mark would be same as the person who ranked 14/19 in the externals.

How you go in your externals is completely independent, and doesn't get influenced by your rankings at school. Whatever mark you get in the exam, stays as your external.

However, you still have a good amount of time to recover and improve your ranking of 14/19

cheers. After some thinking, honestly, i don't think i can improve my current rank by much, i've only got 1 more assessment (worth 10%) and trials (worth 25%) remaining. My cohort is fairly strong because I started with rank =6 and i've been dropping ever since, with the average mark of the cohort being 83%. I was hoping if I can ace my externals, I can make up for my bad internal results, but so far chem is looking like my drop subject ...
