Does anyone have any ideas how "wind in the willows" link to imaginative journeys?

Plz help.

Here are some of my suggestions:
- Toad is undertaking an imaginative journey deciding to see "the whole world"
- "Anthropomorphic" characters---> attitude towards journey

(are those right?)

whats the purpose of the poll ?

:uhhuh: anthropomorphism
+the characters speculate about the journey
+toad's journey attempts to broaden his mind with the knowledge of the world

hmm IMO i didnt really like this text for imaginitive

I dun noe how the poll got there... i guess my lil bro accidentally did this.
Thanks for replying. I reckon "Wind in the Willows" isn't a good text for imaginative journeys.
I wanted to do "Journey to the Interior" but i can't because... my speech (due nextweek) needs to refer a range of texts.

Here are my texts:
-The Tempest (set text)
-Stimulus????
-John Keats poem (related text)
-Spirited Away->film (related text)

Do u have any suggestions which texts from the stimulus booklet would relate to imaginative journeys?

hey, im the same as you i didn't see how it could be an imaginative journey, but think of this..........
has toad gone on the journey...no, he is speculating, imaging what it could be like, this is shown through the explanation marks of his excietment of a trip he hasn't gone on......he can only imagine.....toad is optimistic, were as rat it pessimistic

You're missing the point.
He's going on an imaginative journey but he's not nescisarrily moving. It took me a long time to understand what an imaginative journey is but it's like reading a book. You go on a journey by reading it but you don't actually go anywhere in real life.

The wind in the willows is better used for what motivates people to take these imaginative journeys...

Did anyone else find it strange that these anthropomorphisised animals had a bird as a pet?

With Wind in the Willows - you can also take it that the reader is on an imaginative journey - I mean animals talking - that is imaginative.

SO you can say it is the author/reader as well who go on the journey with toad.

And yes - I find it strange an animal having an animal as a pet!!
