"My Music" Folder contains all the music I have.

I can click on these and Windows Media player will play them, although in the "All Music" section of Windows Media Player, a lot of songs don't show up, even if I play the songs through by clicking the song from "My Music" Folder.

I've tried "Add" by "Searching Computer" and I've done all three options for WMA to figure it out ie: search for new files only (fast), existing files blah blah blah etc.

What's going on?

Please help!

I don't use WMP much so I'm not entirely sure how useful any of this will be, but I did some playing around with it to see if I could make songs not show up and the only way I could do it was to add files to folders with excessively long filenames.
For example:

C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\My Music\a\aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa\a\Song.mp3

wouldn't show up on my computer :)

I'd assume your files don't have names (Or folder names) which are that long though, so that probably isn't any use. Does renaming the files help at all, or moving them to the main My Music folder?

Another thing to try might be right-clicking the My Music folder and selecting play all, but if none of the scanning for media options work I guess that's a long shot.

Failing that maybe someone else can be more helpful. It might be helpful to know what version of Media Player you're running too (Find out by going to Help, About Windows Media Player). If you're running an older version (Latest is 10.00.00.3646 afaik), you can get a new one by running windows update (www.windowsupdate.com), which might also help if it's some sort of bug in older versions (In the event that it is an older version).

Best advice is to ditch WMP. It is really quite bad.

Winamp 3.xx or 5.xx or even better Foobar2000 are far better.
