hey all,
i cant seem to play this avi i have and i was wondering, how can i make windows media player tell me which codec i need? because it doesnt automatically download it for me (i checked the box for auto. downloads) and ive been dling codec packs like crazy =( no luck..
so i opened it in divX player and it says im missing a MJPEG codec.. can windows media player tell me which codec i need?
btw, i used GSpot and it says i have all the compatible codecs yet the avi file wont play.. tho it plays on my friends comp

check out the thread i started about similar problem. accpet my codec played but gave me enooying message pop up

You'd be surprised how many files are encoded with this. Especially files that act as containers for dual audio.

If they are running .ogm movies, then i wouldnt recommend using WMP, in which case you're looking at media player classic, which has in built .ogm decoding :)

Actually, Media Player Classic requires and external codec to run *.ogm containers. It has inbuilt support, but if you want proper feedback, you'll need the codec to go with it.
