Just wondering how many hard-working women are going to do wood, or even metal??

I did wood last year & i was the only girl, with a male teacher. Half the time it was hard, becuase my teacher sometimes forgot that i wasnt a guy....lol.

but i did have loads of fun :)

If you have a bad day cos the males are being themselves, write to this thread for advice or u want me & any others to listen to your bitching. lol!!!

Be creative, both of yous! male & females!!

ha I am the only person in my yr that is doing woodwork so I am doing it through distance education. Basically there were only like 2 ppl who were deffinately coming back for yr 11 so they didn't run it. So in yr 11 I sat in the yr 12 class which was cool & this yr I am in the yr 11 class uh they are so immature, they are all boys & one girl.

Well I do wood work, and I'm the only girl in a class of say 10 other boys! And I came from an all girls school right into woodwork with jsut boys! Scary stuff honestly. Sir forgets im there sometimes I think but he's a great guy and has helped me heaps to learn the subject more! I'm so glad I did woodwork but I'm goin gto miss it after the HSC..never thought I would say that!

At first I hated it cause of rude remarks I would get from the guys and how I had no idea what I was doing haha...but now it's great!

I'm the only girl in a class of 6. I love it at first it was a large class but all the dickheads dropped out. We have a really high quality of work except for 1 member of the class so not happy!(He didn't do anything literally- no folio learning support did that for him, he attended i'd say 5 classes)

Anyway back on track again, i liked being the only girl it was heaps fun.. All the boys were nice and helped me move my cupboard around the room.

I too am also going to miss wood....

Upthedownstair you gotta be careful with cabnetmaker because alot of furniture and stuff are coming from overseas (China), plus automation is becoming used more, however if you dont mind me asking what are you going to specialise in?

yeah i realise that, but i work with this company: www.creativebydesign.com.au where it's custom made furniture. i realise a lot of the automation stuff is coming in but.. i don't think this company will 'sell out' :p. cant wait to start
