I am currently an employee of Woolworths Limited - I currently work at Big W.

I am looking for a change of career, somewhere like Dick Smith electronics.

I was wondering - since I am already a Woolworths limited employee - what the application process would be?

Can I simply get a transfer from Big W to DSE? I have been told by several people that this is possible, but I am not sure.

How should I proceed?

Ask your Store Manager or Recruitment Officer for a transfer form and if all else fails ask for your regions HR specialist, theyll point you in the right direction.

Im looking at moving from supermarket to the IT help desk at the end of this year....

... I have no idea what you just said. Transfer form? Recruitment officer? HR specialist?

So, you're saying that i can simply transfer from Big W to DSE without having to apply externally and have an interview all over again and everything?

I'm not sure about transferring from one brand to another, but transfers between one store to another (in the same brand at least), or even from one dept to another can be difficult.

I doubt they would make you apply externally, however I'm not completely sure on that one.

I know that you can transfer between stores of the same brand (eg transfer from one big w store to another), but can you transfer from Big W to DSE?

There shouldnt be any problem, best talk to your store manager, or go to www.wowcareers.com.au and click on "internal" and see if the store u want to work at has any vacancies. But you do not have to apply externally.
