I'm in year 10 this year, and my school doesn't do work experience, and i already found a place i wanna do it at, does anyone who has done it before or just generally know if you need to like fill in forms or get a certificate or some info as proof that you have acually completed it ?? btw i havent done it yet, so i just wanna know anything i need to be prepared for ??

this might be different, but i did an 'internship' during my first 3 terms of year 12 (it's over now thank GOODNESS). although it was mostly informal i still had to complete a work experience record, (you know? like where you fill it out and then the person you're doing work experience fills it out as well, with their info and what you'll be doing) and obviously let the school know and stuff. it might be different depending on what your school (and the place you plan to do work experience at) is like though.

The work experience does not really matter at this stage. But perhaps you could look into doing your own extracurricular activity e.g. programming, some advance area of mathematics e.g. operations research.

E.g. an online course, read textbook outside the scope of highschool (you can look at university handbook to get an idea).

you can try to apply to do work experience during the holidays. maybe ask your careers advisor for tips as well - even if they do not offer it - he/she might have an alternative.
