Evaluate the effectiveness of the legal system in the settlement of disputes involving world order.

How do I go about answering this question? What goes in it?

You really have to tackle the process of dispute settlement, not just the outcome.

Who are the actors in global governance?
What role does institutions play in settling disputes?
What is the difference in formal and informal institutions and how it influences in global politics?
What theories are there which interprets dispute settlements in different manner?
- Liberalism, Realism, Constructivism, Post-Structuralism, Hobbsian, Feminism...
Acknowledging different processes and outcomes are fundamental to analyse the effectiveness? What channels are there from mere ideas to a workable legal outcome?

How effective are these actors and institutions?
What reforms are needed?

Remember the effectiveness really comes down to these.

- Does all parties who are involved get what they wanted? Were there any concessions or did some parties got less than hoped for?
- Current reforms in global politics.
- Are these instruments binding? Does these parties have to abide by the outcomes from the institution's decision? Talk about like International Whaling Commission as non-binding and UN Resolutuion Sanction as binding.
