I dare bet it wouldn't be irrationality of e..

some of the stock questions:

Geometry:

ptolemy's theorem
Butterfly theorem
Simpsons theorem(this was in last years)

Inequalities:

QM-AM-GM-HM
Cauchy schwarz

Other Harder 3U:

fibonnaci sequence/other reccurence sequences
the tower of hanoi problem
divisibilty

but with only 2 days left til HSC, it seems worthless...

ok, so i understand about 5 words in that list, including theorem...and divisibilty :p

simpson's theorem was question 4b last year

ptolemy's theorem states that for a cyclic qud ABCD

AB*CD + BC*AD = AC*BD

most of those questions are in arnold's book

How do you people know of all these theorems?
I don't think they're in the textbook so why do we have to know these formulas?

you don't. I was trying to say that there's no point in remembering theorems.. they will lead you through the proof.
they are in the textbooks though
